29a. One's very sharp at English exam, amazingly. M*A*A*E.
Blowed if I can find an answer, by maybe I've got one of the letters wrong. Can anyone put me out of my misery?
Despard, I think the different papers/crosswords have different ways of treating hyphenated words. Some would show this answer as 4-3, others just as 7.
I take your point Malone. It does make solving more difficult if one is locked in early teaching of hyphenation. I would make the point that papers should be consistent. In same crossword 51a. is: Bow's straight with recording for a dance (3-4). Now wondering if I should find one word to fill the space.
