I have solved a few of them. #1 "CORN" in front of all words except "BACK"
#3 "MATE" after all words except "FLOOD"
#5 "FEATHER" in front of all words except "CARD"

Bonus word could be Flash

Harrhy's proposal of flash would suggest the discards in 2 and 4 are point and light.

Sorry for not getting back I figured it out. It was Corn, Straight, Mate, Saddle and Feather. The bonus word was in fact Flash.
