Does anyone else have an issue with the crosser at 22ac and 15d?

The crosser must be right, from the cricketer; it's the 15d clue that's wrong (should be "is" rather than"was")

‘Be’ rather than ‘is’ would be grammatically correct

Indeed, zozozo - "is" would require an s on the first word

Hi all

Quite an easy one this week, but I could do with a hint for a couple in the bottom right (SE) corner.

19d Con Government has setter going round the bend (6) I only have ?O????
23d No! Ukip leader's going to run as a Liberal? (5) This time I have P?N?? You'd think I'd get it from that.

2d would be helpful too to confirm or deny my answers to 9ac and 11ac.

Choice of brew after first love gets promoted (6) I have O? t?o? I'm not sure abut the t or second o.

19 is a term most encountered in golf. you need to build it up from its parts
23 is a partial anagram for a slightly derogatory term for a liberal
2d brew with a letter moved up to mean choice

cat on lap!

Many thanks Chrise

I managed to get 23d and hence 28ac.

I think I've got 20d, but know nothing about golf so remain stuck on 19d . I have a possible answer for 26ac but can't see why. I assume the definition is a language. I have M???Y .

I'd like to get finished before Below the Surface - the Scandi-noir

My cat is sulking

The golf term refers to an animal characteristic!
26 is a language. You just need to remove a letter from a word for a "complaint".

It's obvious when you know how.

Just in time for my BBC4 scandi noir.
