I'm afraid the penny hasn't dropped for me. In fact I'm having trouble getting started - only three answers so far and two of them are doubtful. I'm out this evening, so may have to give up.

I used to be on Paul's wavelength, but not any more.

I must confess that I've entered the only possible answer I can see for 25,1, without seeing how and why it works. I also don't see how it realtes to the 5,4 answer.

Didn't enjoy this at all (though, unlike many, I'm not generally a fan of Paul's puzzles).

1a: the first 4 letters mean hose.
I am still trying to figure out 17a, 15a and 18d,

18D means put in order, 17A is an anagram for an item of apparel and 1A is a synonym for an electrical power point.

18d def (put in) order..two letter word meaning yellow inside a 5 letter word meaning large.

15a def 'boxing challenge.. 2 letter abbreviation of the countries with a 'special relationship reversed (knocked over) around a 2 letter word meaning 'affair.

Also had the answer to 15a. Did not know how to parse it.

Have not thought about 17a yet. But soon.
