Breezed through this smugly until I hit the bottom right hand corner where its all gone wrong
30A - Showy bird making an impact after entering - I have ?o?in which would suggest Robin but I can't parse the clue
34A - High moorland was ruined by spades I have ?e?ls which would suggest Fells but again I can't parse the clue
31D - The best of northern England,one of its rivers,if not the first - I have ???e unless 34A is fells in which case I have ??re and being a Leeds lad thought Aire but this is wrong.
As usual any help welcome.

Must be another Scottish word. Always loads in azed - anyone got a good reference online for Scottish dialect?

15a: your ? = s. It's an anagram of "ikea's not" less "tin".
26d: your ? = g. Aiglet, with the last letter sent to the front.

I know this is cheeky but without the answers in this thread, I would have given up! As it happens, I’m now two clues short of a crossword, so to speak. 21a “Section in buff uniform wheeling satisfyingly (4)” nuf*? & 20a “One commands no respect, plenty being withdrawn (4)” *n*t? Any help gratefully received!

Essay, for 21 A 'section' shows it's part of the clue, 'wheeling' shows where to find it...

Thx malone - had crossed my mind but it wasn’t in my admittedly old Chambers, nor in the crosswordsolver app. Enough said!
