9 Across is the only one that I can't piece together. The clue for this is-
"Glower from a girl irked" (6) -A-L-D It looks like the answer might be
"GALLED" but I cannot fit "glower" into the reckoning.

Gal = girl and Led = LED, light, glower (something that glows).

Sorry, I should have said that LED is Light-emitting diode. If you look for LED in Chambers, it says 'see light'.
