A very enjoyable crossword - just one little query - on 28 Down, for which the clue is "Skip school - no time to run away", I have the answer as "GAMBOL", which accounts for "skip". With "bolt" minus the "T" being the "bol" part', how does "gam" equal "school" ? Is "GAM" an abbreviation for a particular school?

Gam has come up in crosswords before - it means a school of whales or dolphins, I can't check the exact definition just now.

Hi Rocketman, a "GAM" is a collective noun for a group or "school" of whales.

Good morning, Malone, and thanks for this. I'll quite happily go along with the group of whales.
