Hi, just wondering if the ODQ is necessary to find the quote as I don’t have access to it and I’m struggling to finish this off.

LuckySalem, I tried Googling the quotation, most of the quotation, but nothing came up. I have the ODQ, so used that yesterday.

Thought as much. Now looking for hints.

Are the initials OWHJ? I’m having trouble. I think I have all the extra letters 3, 3, 3, 1, 5, 9, 8, 2, 3, 4, 3 then initials??

It's always that last pesky clue.....
I've done everything, got the quotation (which NOT in my ODQ) got the central letter and two phrases but I'm stuck on 30d:
With no time left they've lost luminance measuring instrument (6) ?L?VEL.
It's probaly ?LEVEL
I can't find a reference to the appropriate letter. Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes to both the initials and the word/letter count.
