I think that classifies as a "Spoiler", Raghu!

Shame about the spoiler. It is also not a true example of a 'Nina' .. The words in the Everyman are simply words in a theme.

Explanation of Nina

Sorry elle, should have put spoiler alert in the title.

That said, most threads have clues or even answers in them when the poster requests it. Wouldn't those qualify as spoilers?

I personally feel that even getting a clue from a forum spoils the fun and when there is a prize, it's cheating. For this reason, I don't visit forums or view threads unless I have completed the crossword or have given up.

I will support a no clue, no answer policy. Then the forum would die, wouldn't it?

Thanks.

I think there is a distinction, Raghu , in giving a hint or answer when requested, and supplying a list of (part, in this instance) answers that have not been asked for.

@cerasus you didn't have a problem accepting "words in a theme" as a Nina in the thread "Everyman 3785 Nina" of 28 April when you added BROWN to that thread on 5 May !

@elle, I understand the distinction. Its hypocrisy if its ok to give an answer when asked but not so otherwise!

The forum, in my view, should have a strict no answer policy for all prize crosswords.

Anyway, I am done here. For good. Thanks.

@ Raghu....
You say (quote)
" Its hypocrisy if its ok to give an answer when asked but not so otherwise!"

That is utter rubbish1

In the one instance , this is a "Help" forum...and that is what we do!

It is totally different to give an answer when requested, than to offer a list of unrequired answers, that will only spoil it for other people!
