It's a rich Indian dish. I've eaten it several times, but wordsearches didn't find it!

Very loose clue. "Laugh" gives 5 letters, foreign article two, "sloppy stuff requiring a rubber" is just nonsense as a definition.

Thanks, got it. The definition isn't too bad, it was the Laugh that took a while.

Hi Jaffra

Once you put the greek letter in the first word becomes obvious. I had to look up possible dishes as I don't like Indian food.

I'm stuck on a few including 12ac and 15ac

12ac Stick nose in object worn round neck, did you say?(6)
I have ???D?E
15ac Baby feeder squashed by bricks - no need to worry (3,2,2)
I'm convinved this is obvious, but the penny hasn't dropped.
I have ??? I? G?

Are my crossers right? Any hints probably for 1d which might help.

Hi roof
For 12 I have a word that sounds like what you might win.
For 15 it's a very Paulish "baby feeder" inside some Danish (?) bricks.

Thanks Chrise

I had just got 12 across and 1 down.

I thought that was the answer to 15 across but couldn't see where the bricks came in. Thanks for putting me right on that.

Thanks, roof and chrise, though it was still a struggle even with your help, as i am not familiar with Indian food. I found it eventually in Wikipedia. in the end it was exactly as I had parsed it, but could not verify the spelling in any of my reference books.

wrt 9A: I think the need for a rubber is to apply the sloppy stuff, in particular to one's back.
