Another excellent puzzle from the new setter, although there are a few that I think might cause a bit of headache.

The intersections of 19d, 21a, 24a and 26a might be a tad problematic but 1a could have come straight from this week's Peer Review!

Yep - nothing too tricky this time.
Loved the clue for 19d!
Finished before the rest of the family surfaced.....

Strange one today. A mixture of tricky and very easy. 14D was almost a quick crossword write-in.

How did you parse 24a? I can see "endless desire" and the definition is clear enough but I'm still not certain of the rest of the wordplay.

Add an S to the first 5 letters for 'stems'

Many thanks Jo, I'd completely misread the meaning of stems, thinking it was cutting short a word meaning 'shunned by society'.

7d Is another one where the definition is clear but the wordplay has me puzzled...

A dagger's drawn, oddly: it's tense

A = one + alternate letters of a clue word.

Once again, thanks Jo, I completely missed the A = One, and ended up wondering if it might just be that a dagger has an edge!
