clue across should have been 'sense' - I had 'style.'

Guys, thx for enviably! As u're Times Xwords solvers, I got stuck few days ago on a clue apparently very easy: "Stop!". It was 4 letters, but definitely not Halt. U might remember it, plz!!

if the clue was something like - "Finished second - then first"
I thought the answer was,Stop S(econd) Top.
Finished = Stop is a bit iffy.
somebody else thought it was Sist

I take it u know the Xword I'm talking about. The clue was just "Stop!" with exclamation mark. Must be some sort of command I assume.

So, just to sum up the clue was "Stop!", it was 4 letters and I had the second (H) and the fourth (A). I have no reason to doubt about both as they perfectly matched other clues.
Joker, your four hints sounded great, but do not match that _H_A pattern I had!!
