I'm not happy with:

3A Is President set going gone? (8) - INSPIRED (anagram of ISPREIDN).

How does "gone?" parse as INSPIRED? I would have thought EXPIRED would be a better answer but it's too short and doesn't fit!

Slang.

b. great; outstanding.
c. exhilarated; inspired.

Also in Chambers - in a delirious or inspired state
