Ah good evening!
Thanks to all who entered, the standard was very high and it has given me a tough job to pick one winner. Enjoyed the process though!
Lovely touches from: hannah @ 5, the mug/cup association, tyke @7 with a bit of passion and those neck bites, Fj's churches best ink @18 and, Nemo, grapes always have that effect on me!
My favourites were; kt17's BK entices anagram @3, steve's "two sources of drink" (alcohol, I hope!) and East of Eden allusion @10, SW's literary themed part anagram @9, Mr A's thought provoking image of the depressed looking writer writing about The Depression @14 followed by Paul's rib-tickler @17. Mattrom's pearl @21! Loved your gun/runner @23 too. A cracking subtractive anagram from Marty @22!
The winner is peterm @4 with a lovely literary flavoured container. "In Beckett's" drew my eye initially and I was looking for a subtractive anagram. Then "clunk" went the penny, excellent! (I didn't know Sam Beckett had won a nobel prize too)
Your prize has no connection with Steinbeck, but it has made me wonder what Glasgow was like during The Depression.
