I cannot fully parse 1d !

Got FRIENDLESS

Can see ‘Fri’ in there and ‘endless’ ......?
So ‘Fri’ is before ‘Sat’ ?
And ‘endless’ is ‘unreachable’ ?

If Fri(day) is Endless, then we'll never get to/never reach Sat(urday). It's an odd clue!

If Fri is endless Sat never arrives!

No doubt "Friendless" had been clued in a great variety of other ways, but as far as this idea goes, fair play to the setter for trying something knew with "Sat".
