Hi Laurel, I saw this answered elsewhere as....

A MISCHIEF OF RATS

Apparently a group of rats is referred to as a 'Mischief'

this description is very kind to these 4 legged creatures

There are some really excellent 'terms of venery' or collective nouns for animals...

a murder of crows
a parliament of owls
a charm of magpies
an exaltation or bevy of larks
a gaze of raccoons
an unkindness of ravens

....are among my favourites :-)
