I have finished the puzzle but cannot parse one small clue.

Inquisitive lad left club. (4)

The answer must be NOSY ( inquisitive) as it fits all the other parts of the puzzle.

I can see SON (lad) going to the left but where does the Y come from?

Hi Rossim, the only thing I can think of is that it's referring to the abbreviated version of the Y (MCA).

I'm psyching myself up for this week's Everyman.....
