I have WARSLING but again cannot parse it - an attempt at & Lit. maybe?

I have only recently started doing the ST cryptic. When my Times subscription doubled to four quid a week I decided to submit all of the Prize Puzzles in a selfish attempt to claw a little bit back - childish really!!

Corrupt = WARP + Way = LANE
