How about brood,it can't be blood, broad, blond

what's the clue?

Suspect this is the one I answered earlier today which I've reproduced below:

8 Seem to recall seeing an earlier answer, not sure if it was the same crossword where the suggested answer for a similar clue was 'blood' i.e. a person of hot blood.

Helena - i think the question was 'fiery temperament'.

I 'd go with blood
