Is the clue for 24a) missing?

24a is part of one of the seven clues .

Ye, I was a bit too slow to realise there was a mistake in the instructions!

I think I’ve completed it, but could anyone please help me to parse 16a, 22a, or 41a? Also the ‘RI’ clue seems pretty weak, unless I’m missing something.

Thank you both! All makes sense - I had them all, but missed those subtleties so had nagging doubts.

RI was indeed a very feeble offering, 'Heart of Africa' might have been a better answer.

Furthermore, this setter is experienced enough to know that 'health centre' is not the same as 'health's centre' or (as in 40a) 'centre of health'.
