28a. One who dishes out fast food to audience (5).

The answer is "Donor", as in charity donor, which I think is meant to sound the same as "doner" as in kebab, only it doesn't. But I might be missing something.

we have been discussing homophones on other threads the last 2 days.

Thanks for pointing this one out. It is awful. I pronounce the words "Donor" as "Doe - gnaw" and "doner" as "dun - err", completely different sounds. No wonder I could not solve this clue yesterday.

I don't think you are missing anything, as you say a dodgy homophone.

As usual with a homophone, it probably depends on where one comes from...and whether one speaks with a local accent/ dialect,
To me, donor and doner sound similar enough for me to raise no objection!
