"A student goes in early; there's some pressure on" = 'saloon bar'. I can see how this clue works but is it a proper clue? There's seems to be nothing pointing to the end product if you know what I mean...

"Somewhere to keep soldiers in step" S-O-A-E. Gotta be either 'storage' or 'stowage' but which and why?

"Plump priest's into climbing" O-T. There are only so many three letter words you can get out of that but I don't see an answer. Whatever it is, could you explain it please?
