A triumph!
I've only just noticed that it applies to the clues as well as the answers.

Hi Rossim et al

I've just written a nice response only to find the Cat has deleted it! he likes to sit on my keyboard. What is a caret?

I agree that it is a triumph. I have an answer for all the clues, but cannot parse them all. Although I didn't need to post a request for any hints this week, I did find previous posts helpful, so thank you to everybody.

I'd love to know more about the lipogram factor. The question about Caret leads me to think maybe there's an E missing all around, but it's beyond me. Also I have one left, 16d: Abrupt attack is capturing court, you said. With I?T?A it looks like Intra, but why? Is it the lipogram at work? I await replies from my betters.

16d does not end in A.
Attack does not always relate to warfare or fighting.

Thanks rm54 and Rossim. I'll try again. Still very curious about the lipogram coup.

I'm sure there are many very clever articles written on the topic but I found enough of interest on the subject using Wiki.

Thanks Mamya
I confess I hadn't heard of the term before!
5d was obviously an anagram so I looked it up.
