It's been a while but I attempted a DT cryptic the other day.
I got the gist of these but I was hoping for a more accurate answer if I may?

9. Across - Impropriety of popular Italian novelist breaking cylinder. (9) Answer = 'Indecorum'
I get the impropriety bit but not the rest.

3. Down - Call to mind right English prayer. (9)
Answer = 'Recollect'
Not sure about the prayer bit in this one?

7. Down - Worried about husband blocking an expressway. (8)
Answer = 'Autobahn'
I can see the 'H' for husband and the autobahn
'expressway' but worried?

15. Across - English writer married of acquiring wife in US state (8)
Answer = 'Delaware'
Well I can see Delaware is the US state but that is about
it.

Thank you.

Brilliant! Thank you for such quick answers.

I must admit for three down I did check the word 'collect' for its various meanings in a thesaurus but I was obviously unlucky. Thanks again.

You're welcome. Chambers dictionary defines 'collect' as a short prayer, specific to the liturgies of the Western Church.

Yep. Just for completeness I have just checked it in my old 1988 edition of Chambers and there it is. Have to stop relying on the Oxford English so much. Cheers.
