The King isnt at all royal! The 'court order' is a huge help.

Hi both, 16a you're right with the plant as definition; wordplay removes UV (light) after the 2nd "L".

Clue for 8a gives (6) but a 7 letter space in grid for which i have a suitably parsed answer.....typing error??
