Any hints for my last one, please?

I can think of a word that roughly means "covering", but can't see how the rest relates.
It's possible that "inoffensive" should be read as "in offensive", but that still doesn't help!

I think you're right about the 'in offensive'. There's a 9-letter word for 'offensive' and you stick an article in it to get covering.
