I can't find a dictionary that gives 'impose on' as a meaning of 'mislead'. I also find Magoo's spelling of 'cheetah' rare to the point of non-existence. I have long been addicted to the Speccie crossword but suspect that they need some wool bend (3,5) in the compiling dept.

Gerba, the variant spelling is listed in Chambers, so maybe not that rare? And 'impose on = mislead' is also given in Chambers.

Otherwise done. Theme gave itself away on first reading, like last week, which rather spoils the fun....

Lumen, it's not Abasia - you've got the wrong 'boat', so have two wrong letters. It's an unusual (for me) definition of an everyday mode of transport.

Oddly I got abasia from Quick Solve on this site, defined as inability to walk, but it’s not in Chambers or any other dictionary I have!

The 'boat' is defined, in Chambers, as 'any other vehicle available for hire, such as a boat or small aircraft' - so we don't need to go abroad! PS We can watch out for 'small aircraft' resulting in ???? sometime soon.
