Have a couple which I'm unsure about:

18A Weak cup of tea unfinished (4)

_ H _ N

Think it must be THIN but unsure why.

3D One boards morning train (3)

A _ M

Can only be AIM (which is 1 in AM) but what's that got to do with 'train'?

Thanks Chrise.

Thing without an E had also crossed my mind, but like you I thought it very weak...
… training a gun, however, had eluded me completely!

Could it be CHIN ?
I think a small chin is commonly called a 'weak chin', so google
tells me?

Sorry, meant Chin as in short for China (tea)

I think it's "thin" = "weak" (def)

not my thin(g) - not my cup of tea

I agree, Chris, it's a bit feeble, but I think it's correct.

I get your drift pigale… but as with 'thin' it too is a bit weak!

Yes. Pigale's idea is good, but doesn't really account for the "cup of" bit.

OK, wrong again! Thanks for putting me right though as the
C/T being between two black squares, I would have submitted a
grid with (at least) one mistake..........
