Gentle one today after a few tricky IQs.

This is frustrating. I've finished the crossword but where are the thematically placed letters? I've tried first, second, third and last letters (which would be thematic) etc. Second words and third etc too but nothing emerges.

Orson, think about the time of the [GREY CELLS WORD]. That will tell you which letter to pick from each clue.
