Stuck on last one (after much struggle).

44D - Drag dame of fifty away from purchase (7)

I can only come up with ELEVATE, but can't make any sense of that as an answer.

Any bright ideas out there?

Everage.... Dame Edna (Barry Humphrey) leverage ... purchase less the L for fifty.

Thanks very much for this. I was having my weekly discussion of the Jumbo with my sister when your reply popped up, so it was very good timing.

I should have though of this, but didn't. My sister was thinking on the right lines but could only remember Danny La Rue, which wasn't helpful.
