Anyone else attempting this? Really struggling. I think 1a starts with L, and left hand long down clue with F, but would be grateful for some pointers. (For those without the crossword it is an un-numbered alphabetical - nightmare for Halloween!)

Could you give the clues? Many of us don't see this crossword, but like getting the chance to try it, the chance to help.

Really just wanted to know how to fit the answers in rather than answers to clues. I assume that the clue to L is 'A peaceful sounding picture, rather like this?' (6,6) Does this go in at 1a.?

Thanks, Liz - thematic crosswords can sometimes be hard to help with. I've seen elsewhere that the answer to the clue 'A peaceful...' doesn't begin with L.

Look for a 12 letter + a 7 letter clue, which could start with the same letter, prior to those you are looking at.

Thanks! So it's 'One from Jutland ...'? (presumably J...?) I must admit - this crossword may have defeated me.

1a Starts 'G'

Long clue down left starts 'J'


Read 'Peaceful' as 'Pieceful'
