@ aristo; hopefully you'll look in again. One of "your" earlier works was the theme of last weekend's Listener, damned good puzzle (not easy), thanks for the favourable comments.

Can't find the puzzle. "The Acharnians" perhaps? "The Clouds"?

Hi again aristo, a copy should be with syzygy now. Should you enjoy it and wish more we can exchange email addresses through syzygy. A good indicator of the difficulty is usually reflected in the number of posts on each particular puzzle thread on this forum, which you can see without opening the thread.

Oh là là! A very pleasant surprise as I thought there a lot of very clever
clues around!

Thank you Peterm for 'fancying' my clue; Having finally written it, I felt
pleased with myself, and this does not happen very often!

I found the clip rather amusing and it reminded me of 'La plume de
ma tante est sur le bureau de mon oncle' ! Eddie Izzard is new to me
so I might watch some of his comedy sketches on youtube.

come up with as good a word to be clued next week!
