Tatters, thanks for sending me this puzzle. Despite my valiant efforts - and having 'warmed up' on today's Mephisto, Enigmatic Variations etc - I didn't get very far! I solved hardly any clues. I thought some of them were cleverly done, but it seemed quite a dry crossword to me.

You're not alone! I have never come close to finishing one unaided by Google [though that is a lot better than the Listener ones where I usually throw in the towel half way through the preamble]

Tatters, glad you saw my follow-up post. It was good to see a different crossword … and I won't feel deprived now!
