Congratulations, Terry. There were only three mistakes in your post.
Firstly, 'Very good' ought to be followed by a comma, as it precedes a vocative.
Secondly, 'was' ought to be 'were'. An impossible condition in a main clause requires a subjunctive verb in the subordinate.
Your third error is simply one of fact.Being British, rather than American, I wear trousers, not 'pants'. Perhaps you meant 'underpants', which I of course wear underneath my trousers.
If you were to do likewise, rather than wearing yours on your head, the flow of blood thereto would be less restricted. This might render you capable of coherent thought, and, who knows, maybe even civility.
Kind regards, The Avenger.

Not bad Avenger. Everybody has moved on somewhat, but hey, what's three days between friends. By the way, what was it you said about being pompous. Oh yeah,I remember. Thanks for the demo.

Terry:Sorry I could not reply sooner, but I have better things to do with my time. So everybody has moved on have they? If so, why bother to reply? I suppose you are just one of those people who has to have the last word. If you reply to this, you are simply proving my point.
By the way, I see you cannot appreciate the difference between 'pompous' and merely correct.
Love and kisses, The Avenger.

I gotta say; The Avenger, your posts are the most delightfully pompous, not to say pedantic, ramblings i have witnessed for quite a while, way beyond parody.
And the fact that you chose to call yourself The Avenger as you leapt to the defence of the wrong woman did make it a little bit embarrasing but top marks for trying.
ps. I may,or may not, have made some (embarrasing - 2 esses?)errors in my post - go corrrrectum tiger!

Now where were we - oh yes number 1 - anagram of elchis.

Just spotted the following which I've extracted below:

The constellations of Columba the Dove and Caelum the Chisel are generally accepted as Southern Hemisphere constellations although they can be seen by people in the southerly regions of the Northern Hemisphere during spring nights. Those in the Southern Hemisphere view these constellations best in the fall.

So it looks like the answer is the constellation - chisel.

Hey Avenger, when picking holes you missed point 3 in Terry's post 13. It should of course read 'between quzzaddict and me'.
Sorry to butt in, but I've just picked up on this thread for the first time.
As a matter of interest, and asking as a newcomer, is this a crossword help forum as advertised?

Hi Stewart
I'v not seen any advertisements for this site but the answer is no,not totally. This thread for instance was originally about a quiz.
Apart from Crypto (well solved by the way, Crypto)a lot of posts - including yours - have been off-topic. It happens quite a lot on this forum.

If Avenger (or anyone else) was/is offended by my deliberately childish response... well, that was not my intention
