Oops! My apologies for being unclued. I'm not sure of etiquette on here yet but naturally it makes sense to include the clue. I promise not to make that error again. Duo is obviously the answer but "o" and "au" sounding the same? Hmm.

Thanks, Bazotto - giving the clue will widen the pool of helpful solvers! As far as your clue is concerned, I often don't like (or agree with!) homophone clues, but I didn't think this one was too bad. I checked the pronunciation marks/guide in Chambers - 'o' and 'au' (as in au pair) seem to be the same.

Hi bazotto, not my favourite type of clue as they are often dialect dependent. One that regularly appears in various puzzles that sound nothing like each other in this part of the UK is urn/earn. I do wish setters would (finally) take note.
