When a river makes more than one bank

One again this is the letter for me in the crossword!

I have asa?

I think asap for 'when' but I cannot parse it.

Once again any help gratefully received.

Thanks, but I can;t find a meaning for asar apart from 'as soon as reasonable'. Does it mean bank?

"Asar "is the plural of "as".
In Sweden asar are banks or ridges in/on a river.

Yes, crossword, it's in Chambers - but starting from 'as', with an accent. That's the singular, asar is the plural - and it's defined as kame or eskar (ridges, banks).

Rusty, I checked Chambers (any excuse!) in case you weren't around! Glad you were.

Thanks, Crossword.
Thanks, Rusty - I don't like being left wondering, about a clue, myself, so decided to chip in. Duplicate info is better than no info!
