I badly need help down in the bottom left corner. Baffled in particular with 26a and 17a.

26 for "queen" think chess
17 read backwards. The "nothing" is a coarse abbreviation!

HI Chrise

I too am stuck in that bottom left hand corner. I'm afraid your hints haven't helped me. Is Queen the definition for 26ac. I thought it would be cheers. I may have just got this one.

I'm not sure what you mean by a coarse nothing for 17ac. Again I'm not sure of the definition.

I also could do with some help for 23ac. I think I have been put off by guessing an answer for 15d, which I now think must be wrong. I get the following crossers T?R? O?F ?V with my guess, but none of them help with the across clues.

I might come to it fresh in the morning.

23 A murder of ????(s)

Hi Chrise

Finally getting 26ac meant that my guess for 15d was wrong. I've now finished and understand your reference to a coarse nothing.
