googled 'Cattle meaning' ! Lazy

I already knew "neat" ...I just looked it up in Chambers so I could give you a reference.

Well, 'neat' does not appear under 'cattle' but 'cattle" appears
under "neat'

and I still do not see the connection! I am obviously being obtuse
this morning.

Good sunshine here too, though lacking a good 10 degrees for me
(only 19C at present) - Well, you know me and heat!
Otherwise, I am just about fine I think!

Chrise, thank you for the interesting link - I am slowly getting used to
this use of 'neat' and low(er) in crossword, but it is still vague in
my mind! Coming across it again and again in crossword might help.

In Chambers, under "cattle", it gives "horses and sheep", too.

I made the same mistake, then found the solution to this using Bradford’s, under cattle it has neat.
Can anyone shed any light on 9 across.
Realistic representation of death row cages not amended.(4-2-5) I have ????-T?-??R?H.
I think cages not amended means an anagram of not inside but I still can’t see it!
