I don't know how I missed it, Ms. Jazz. They were playing some of her songs on the radio yesterday and said that there was to be a memorial concert for her last night. When I mentioned it to my wife afterward she said she'd heard about her death.
By the way, the Preservation Hall thing was fabulous- two hours without intermission, lots of goodies and free-flowing drink, and the barn it was in was quite something too, arched trusses and balconies and elegant kayaks suspended overhead. It was rather endearing to see the yachting set trying to jive.
About seventy houses blew up or burned down north of Boston yesterday, apparently due to a gas pressure surge. An entire town was evacuated. SO strange.
