Clue : job-seeker apparently in charge in factory
The answer is APPLICANT
I can see the job-seeker part but how the rest fits in I have no idea.
Any help explaining would be good.
I have just started trying do do these cryptic clues
I enjoy getting the answers but some times I still can’t figure them out

Hi gilfach, ap (apparently) +( ic (in charge) within plant (factory)).

Job seeker = definition.
Apparently = ap.
ic = in charge.
factory = plant.

Hi again gilfach, if you're enjoying cryptics it might be worth considering getting The Chambers Dictionary. It's normally the reference dictionary of most good cryptics (Britain) and includes all common and somewhat uncommon abbreviations.
