Just two letters left!
1d Card-playing group capture container for the young (6,3)
?C?O?L,?A?
Pretty obvious what the first word is, but I can't make sense of either reasonable possibility for the second.
It's just possible that the middle letter is an O, but that doesn't seem to help, and it would mean that 15a was a poor clue.

Isn't the second word - that makes up a part of the whole - another word for "capture"?

I cannot offer any more without saying the word outright!

Pieces of tapestry is the definition. You need the usual Painter stuff, twice (but both ways, so...) with 'begin spraying' (the usual 'begin' stuff).
