To finish an old crossword and put me out of my misery ...
Can “CLOTHING” be “Something worn by stupid person talking at the window”.?? I have
- L - T - I - G
The something worn is obvious. CLOT = stupid person but I can’t tie HING with “talking at the window”. Or is it just Glasgow slang for THING?

HING is Glasgow slang for hang (hang out the window) to talk to neighbours.

Hmm... I went through hing - hang too but it didn’t sit comfortably that “at the window” = “hang”.
I’ll live with it.
Thank you.

It is relevant to tenement properties where you could "hing oot the windae"and talk to someone in the back court or at an adjacent window.
