Oh dear! Time someone skipped the light fandango while heading for the coast?

Is that the clue?
"We skipped a light fandango" is, of course, from Procul Harum's A whiter shade of pale.

Chris, I think it might be just a comment on another poor crossword. We've had rather a lot of them over the past few months!

Hi chrise, it's a comment incorporating the theme and relating to the setter of this week's puzzle. Some similar comments were made in the thread re the setter in his last published puzzle.

Both 1d and 27a seem to be incomplete or wrong.

Hi sunray, I no longer have the puzzle so can't remember the clue to 27a but I don't recall a problem. If you care to post it I'll give you my parsing.
In 1d if you take "two seats" = (seat + seat) + pale + br (brown) that equates to the anagram fodder.

27a Ara(go)n, green for go.
