4dn 17 perhaps tucking in to finish up French soups- POTAGES. Could someone parse this for me please.
Also, 17ac perhaps one's intended caretaker (6) KEEPER or HELPER, and why

7 - age
in stop(reversed)

potages - French soups

7a keeper - double definition - one's intended (someone worth keeping) + caretaker

Tanks creasus. Age as in 17 years old? I know it says perhaps but seems a weak clue to me. Same for 17ac.

Read it as "one" being the number of a goalkeeper. Historically anyway. And agree, ambiguous clue.

I think both clues were OK. Roisin Conaty made a joke on a panel show about someone who has a lot of pets not being a "keeper".
