20d ...this one could be minding (5)

Answer has to be VIRUS and the clue is a “follow on” from 18d

18d For 11 new poison...(5) to which the answer was TOXIN.

Apart from a bit of a link between toxin and virus I just don’t understand the clue to 20d. Anyone work this one out? Will I be kicking myself in a few minutes? ;-)

Are you sure it isn't mining? There's something called a mining virus (computers)- although I've also heard the term mind virus. Don't see wordplay though.

This may be a bit of a stretch, but perhaps 'minding' = 'in the memory'?
Chambers has a def. of 'minding' as 'a memory, something recalled'

Anagram of VIRUS + ONE gives SOUVENIR (a "minding" )

Don't like the toxin/virus link though. A virus isn't a toxin...

Didn't see it at first either, but I note in Chambers that "virus" is Latin for " venom ".
