Can anyone help with the parsing for....

3d I'm leaving state in North America for a dance (10) - TARANTELLA (Dance)

I thought it must be a N American state minus I or IM or switched for A, but I've tried adding those letters back to the answer and get nothing.

TARA! = I'm leaving, + TELL, state, in NA, North America
