Having trouble with two.

4across: jump over field with force splitting type of rock. (8). I have leapfrog. Lea = field but don't understand the rest.

14 across. Hero, better prepared, keeping restraint around king (6, 3, 5)

I have Robert the Bruce. Robert the is a partial anagram for Hero, better. Don't understand the rest.

As you say LEA + F(orce) splitting PROG (Type of rock (music - Think Emerson Lake and Palmer)

14a Yes (Anag. Hero + Better around Curb (Restraint)

I should have said that the 'Around' after Restraint means CURB should be reversed.

4a: leapfrog = jump over (def)
lea- field
f - force
prog - progressive rock
14a: Robert the Bruce= King(def)
Anagram of "hero better" with "curb" - restraint - reversed
