Leon, glad I could help - I'd already done this crossword. I've just put the letters you had in the Chambers Word Wizard and the answer came up.

May I barge in here? With only one clue left to solve [24a]. I have yet to see any convincing link among the unclued words or the theme. Is it particularly obstruse or am I in need of a pdm or hint? I can get an anagram from 24a with an electrical connection.

The theme is very British, something that's been around for decades. 24 Across is just a sounds like clue - the jumpers are from Australia!

… and the cobbles in the title are famous.

PS It isn't a great theme -you might be disappointed!
