Have made progress with the grid.
But need help with:

The definition may have a letter added and jumbled.
The answer may not fill the available space.

1a. Rasta narcotic not fashionable (5)
2. Men nearly ready to play with differently coloured horns (7)

Have about half of extra letters. Do the last 11 letters spell YES?

Thanks.

Should 1d have "stem" rather than "stems"? For a while I thought the last s was an extra letter.

And could we continue with IQ 1551 here rather than the IQ 1511 one so as not to mislead people looking for such a thread, please?

Thanks

malone. thanks for your reply on the other post.

My shaded unclued is a substitute on a TV show, say.
Am I looking for substitutes.
Is this about a British TV show?

You're on the right lines, sunray, but you're looking for regulars, rather than substitutes on a TV show. Look at who might be on the left and right (wrong way round in my view). I haven't got the blank squares yet though.

Orson, I thought the same as you about the people being on the wrong sides. I'd like to think that the setter tried to get them the right way round! The blank squares aren't all you need....

Thanks orson.

I am not familiar with British TV shows but the contributor on left was in a puzzle a couple of weeks ago.

Still not sure what applying yes means.

In the grid, find two instances of one particular word from the title of the show. Then think about the title if the puzzle. In amending those words you will also fill the blanks.

(I didn't think the instruction was very helpful - and was possibly misleading. Affirmative in this case doesn't lead to 'yes'.

Thanks nelson.
I was lucky to find the two guys but did not look up their show name.

I looked up TCD and the meaning of affirmative here still eludes me.
