Can someone confirm this is right and why, me going bonkers.

Help with Blather (27a) , if that is also correct would be appreciated

A = per
US guy = bo (word for man)
Give money to = Pay
(Popping in = put 'per' and 'bo' inside 'pay')

Pa per bo y.

27 Gossip columnist's spot that woman is after (7)

Blather = Gossip
Blat = newspaper, so where a columnist could be, columnist's spot
Her = that woman.

Thanks Malone, this is the first time I have done this, I was so frustrated! I have never heard of bo as a US guy. Learn something every day. Thanks too for Blather .. Will try to return the favour at a later date
